If you’ve been reading my blog lately, then you know that I’m just a tad obsessed with with this novel by Gu Man. After all the hype with Yang Yang taking on the role of Xiao Nai in the drama version, I was holding out hope among hope that he would reprise the role in the movie version…
Sadly it’s not to be.
Due to scheduling conflicts (i.e. his film with Liu Yi Fei *coughcough*), the film Xiao Nai will be played by none other than Jing Boran, with Angelababy as his leading lady.
These two team up once again as a couple following their previous collaboration in 《全城热恋》 Hot Summer Days.
The movie is in its final stages having recently filed with SARFT.
Assuming nothing untoward happens and SARFT doesn’t go on a snipping spree, then we can look forward to the movie for the first half of next year. If this holds true, then the drama will most likely air in the holiday run at the end of the year, if not 2017 *cries*.
In all honesty, I’m not feeling toe vibe from either Zheng Shuang OR Angelababy for the role of Bei Wei Wei. They both seem too….princess-y…for me to associate them with the hot but I don’t care, Wei Wei that I imagine from reading the novel.
It looks like the dramas turning into film that Yang Yang stars in will never benefit from him reprising his small screen roles~~~
I was hoping he would take part in the Lost Tomb movie…but considering all the problems he had while filming the drama, well~~~~~
