My latest obsession and definitely not because it’s Vic Zhou’s return to the small screen ^.^. Who am I kidding! I only watched it for Vic Zhou – but then became pleasantly surprised by the 52 episode long drama that I stuck around for the entire thing.

Originally a novel of the same name by 蝶之灵 (Die Zhi Ling) in the boy-love / e-sport / gaming genres, in complying with Chinese regulations, the drama version completely removes the boy-love aspect. It could even be considered to be pushing the hetero-romance of the female, Jiang Xue.

Another gaming web drama to add to the growing list, Beyond Light Years stars two more relatively new faces:

In a school (university) youth drama that incorporates smatterings of romance and an OE (open ending) set in the universe of gaming legends.

In recent years, avid followers of the C-Drama world will have noted the ever-increasing use of the term IP-drama. What is it? and is it worth following?
Not having watched the previous 1978 version of this drama, nor read the novel, after the first 5 episodes, I had really high hopes. The main male lead, Yi Feng (played by Ren Yanqi), is powerful, humorous and smart. Yet the character began to degrade with the increase in the importance of the female lead, Sun Min’s (played by Wi Youshi) story.
Considering the drama/novel is titled The Lost Swordship, and it is evident the male character is the main, one would think that there would be more emphasis on the development of his sword skills and journeys in the jianghu than the displayed emphasis on her life story and ultimate rise to power through nothing but sheer bloodline.

Hello everyone~ I know it’s been a super long time and I really shouldn’t be making any excuses. In light of my college graduation coming around the corner, I am no unemployed and no longer in schooling so time is aplenty. I just came on quickly to bring attention to a project that a good friend has decided to start.
Some of you may be aware of A Virtual Voyage, a team which I have just recently joined.
One of the team members, Wuxiarocks, has taken the initiative to begin subbing Legend of Condor Heroes 2017.
